What the game contains, what you can turn down, and where to get real help.
In a crisis right now? In the US, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line). Outside the US, the International Association for Suicide Prevention's crisis-center directory lists a line for your country. If someone is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number.
These are real services run by other organizations. AnimeLife is a game and is not a substitute for any of them.
What AnimeLife actually contains
AnimeLife is an adult game. It is not a gentle life sim with occasional sad moments. Naming it plainly is the point of this page.
- Crime and violence you choose. Robbery, theft, extortion, fighting, and a murder verb where you pick how, or pay someone else to do it.
- Simulated gambling in historical Google Play version code 13. That historical Android candidate contains blackjack and other play-money wagers. Nothing can be cashed out. Signed App Store build 16 and Android version 17 remove those mechanics.
- Addiction and overdose. A painkiller habit that can start from a real injury, be treated in rehab, relapse, and kill your character.
- Sex, romance, and betrayal. Implied and consequential, never depicted.
- Death, grief, and family collapse. Characters you built relationships with die, and the game does not soften it.
Signed App Store build 16 and Android version 17 contain no wagering or simulated gambling. Google Play version code 13 still contains the historical play-money mechanics above and keeps its matching rating. Storefront ratings and device parental controls govern access. The app does not ask or verify the real player's age.
The controls you have
Content intensity
Settings → Content has a MILD / FULL DRAMA switch. Mild softens the sharpest beats. Full drama plays every consequence straight. You can change it at any time, and it takes effect on the next beat.
Report a beat
Every story card has a Report link in its corner. No long press, no hidden gesture. Tap it, pick a reason, and that beat is hidden from you immediately and logged on your device so we can fix the template. Reports stay on your device; we do not collect them automatically. If you want us to see one, email it to us at the address below.
Crisis resources, in the app
Settings → Crisis Resources holds a fixed, hard-coded list of hotlines and links: 988, the Crisis Text Line, SAMHSA's helpline, and the IASP international directory. Tapping one opens your phone's own dialer, messages, or browser. We never see whether you tapped it.
Turn the whole thing off
There is no streak, no daily login, and no notification asking you to come back except a single optional reminder you have to opt into. Nothing punishes you for closing the app.
How stories are written
Every event, choice, and consequence in AnimeLife is hand-written by people. The game engine, not a model, decides what happens to your character.
Every event, choice, and outcome comes from the game's hand-written story library. Story Polish is optional and off by default. It can only rephrase a beat the game has already decided, and it cannot invent choices or outcomes. The writing service is not configured in build 16 or version 17, so those releases always use the bundled story text and send no story content. Our Privacy Policy explains the details.
Age
AnimeLife is rated for adults. Current signed candidates remain 18+ because of frequent realistic violence and drug references. Historical Google Play version code 13 retains the mature regional ratings derived from its exact content, including simulated gambling. The app does not ask, estimate, or verify the real player's age. Storefront ratings and device parental controls govern availability.
Telling us something is wrong
If a beat crossed a line, if the game handled something badly, or if you found content that shouldn't exist, email miwoju.business@gmail.com. Include the character name, the age or year it happened, and what it said. We read these. Templates get fixed and removed.
